What is flower essence therapy?

Flower essences are an energetic, vibrational healing modality for inner growth and transformation.
The most common way flower essences are prepared is by soaking freshly harvested blossoms in spring water and bright sunlight for a number of hours. This “mother essence” is then preserved and later diluted.
Flowers are potent imaginations of emotional-mental states and patterns. The strong vertical and upright gesture of the bold, cheerful sunflower, for example, reminds us of the inner feeling of confidence. Small, diminutive violets are reminiscent of feeling shy and sensitive.
By working with flowers that resonate with the specific emotional and mental patterns that we’re seeking to transform within ourselves, subtle yet powerful shifts can start to unfold.

What can I expect during a session?

Each session consists of a conversation about what is present for you now – your needs, goals, challenges, vision for your life – etc.
And while listening intently to you, I will also be listening to the flowers – seeking to find resonances between specific flowers and your needs. At the end of each session, I create a custom essence formula for you based on the intentions that we will have clarified together in the course of our conversation.
Continuity over time is important to receive the full benefit of the essences. While flower essences can be helpful in acute situations, where they really shine is when they are taken intentionally and rhythmically over longer periods of time. This allows them to reach deeper and deeper layers of our inner being and gently catalyze new insights and lasting growth.
I therefore recommend scheduling follow-up sessions. Based on your needs, we may repeat the same essence formula more than once or create new blends.

What are the effects of flower essences?

Flower essences are not physical substances. While physical substances affect the mind-body system directly – for example, a cup of coffee predictably causes mental alertness – essences work with our free will and inspire inner changes indirectly.
They resonate with parts of our soul, helping us strengthen our connection to our own inner strengths and expand the thoughts and emotional responses that are available to us.
The exact changes that flower essences help support are highly individual to each one of us. That being said, some more common experiences are:
    • Feeling a deepened sense of inner support
    • Finding that the inner work we’ve already done can “land” and integrate more deeply into our system
    • Experiencing more neutrality and internal distance from our own thoughts and feelings
    • Releasing burdensome parts
